Pioneer Day 2012

Here in Pocatello we celebrate Pioneer Day on the Saturday before July 24th! It started out with a parade in the morning, and then that afternoon they have food, games, music, a petting zoo, a water slide, mutton-bustin, horse races, and lots of fun at the Bannock County Fairgrounds!
Anxiously waiting for the parade to start!

Watching the parade!

Kinzie loved the big horses:)

Watching the parade!
We went to the parade with my mom and some of our friends and their kids! Kinzie got lots of candy that her daddy is happy to help her eat (he loves parade candy, me....not so much). We ate lunch at Taco Bell, gave Kinzie a nap, then headed to the Fairgrounds for some food, fun, and entertainment!
That evening, we headed to Arbon to play games with my family and to see the newest member of their family!!!!
And here he is...cute little Mo!

Kinzie loves him:)

Their cat also had 5 kittens recently, and they all look identical and cute:) Here's two of them!!  And Kinzie of course loves them as well, probably even more than the puppy, seeing how they'll sit still longer for her to pet them!

I sure am grateful for the Pioneers and all of their hard work and sacrifice. They have set many examples and left many impressions for today's generation to follow! I am so thankful for them and that we have a day set aside each year to remember and honor them and their legacy!

Candids!

Always climbing into things!

Cuddlin with Daddy!

She loves, loves, loves corn on the cob!!
Helping Grandpa open his Birthday Card!

Bear was hungry too I guess

Trying on Daddy's hat while camping in Arbon!

She loves climbing up and down Grandma's steps!

This is Kinzie's little buddy from Arbon named Ryker. He is just 1 day older than her (we joke that they can be each other's first date when they turn 16...HA!) Here he's trying on Richard's shades!!

LOL

Richard taught Kinzie how to hold up one finger when we ask her  how old she is...it's so cute! (don't mind the fact that she just stuffed a piece of bread into her mouth...ha ha)

Mini-Golf and Lagoon!

While we were in Spokane, Washington, we went miniature golfing--one of my family's favorite activities! We had a lot of fun, even though it was very hot and humid:)
I even got 2 Hole-in-Ones...which is really good for me.
AKA LUCKY!
Kinzie wanted her own club...just like everyone else!

Yes, Kinzie is trying to eat a golf ball......

Richard taking his turn!

Me waiting for my turn.

Ready, Set, Putt!
(me and my brother Challis)

Enjoying the nice green grass as she watched us golf!

They had this fun Tonka Truck inside of the Arcade...Kinzie loved it and did not want to get off.

This was hilarious to watch! She walked all the way up that sidewalk holding on to these 2 clubs with my mom. Kinzie looked like one of those old ladies using a walker...she had us all laughing hysterically!

On June 18th, we went to Lagoon with some of my family. We weren't really sure how Kinzie would do...but once there we quickly learned that she HATED it! We woke her up early that morning and hoped she would sleep on the drive there....but she didn't. So we got there and she was SUPER DUPER TIRED. In the parking lot she had fun pointing to the rides and telling people on the white roller coaster to "sshhhhh". But once inside when she got close to the LOUD rides...it freaked her out. She does not like loud noises--she gets scared very easily.
So luckily Richard's sister saved the day and came to get Kinzie and keep her the rest of the day. Kinzie had fun at her cousin's house, and we had fun going on rides and swimming without having a screaming baby with us (it was a win-win situation)!
While we were waiting for Robyn to come get Kinz, we tried taking her on the merry-go-round and train. She liked sitting on this colorful horse, but once the ride started, she again freaked out. silly girl. Finally the ride ended, and we didn't even attempt the train ride. I think normally she would have loved the train ride and seeing the animals, but she was SOOO tired that I think she would have been miserable this time. She was happy to go away and fell asleep soon after she got into Robyn's vehicle. Maybe next year she won't be such a scaredy cat of noises. Maybe. just maybe.
